Part-time Floor/Maintenance Technician

Job Title:          Part-time Floor/Maintenance Technician                                                         Non-Exempt

Department:      Operations

Supervisor:       Maintenance Manager

Function:          To provide general floor maintenance services for all WAGES facilities at the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education/Formal Training: Preferably technical training in general repairs and building                                                maintenance.
  2. Work Experience: Experience in general floor maintenance tasks including basic knowledge of

mopping, stripping and waxing and floor upkeep as well as general maintenance activities.

  1. Aptitudes: Valid driver’s license required; flexibility of work time necessary


  1. Essential Responsibilities:

Maintain and provide upkeep for vinyl floors, including routine cleaning, mopping, stripping and waxing.

  1. As time permits and needs dictate, work with Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Mechanic and all centers to maintain facilities for meeting licensing standards/requirements and perform minor repairs including such things as: touchup painting, painting rooms in summer when school is not in session, replacing broken window panes, repairing loose boards, exposed nails, etc.
  2. Participate in training as required or recommended by WAGES.
  3. Support and interpret the WAGES mission and goals in the community in a positive manner.
  4. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager.


  1. Physical Demands: Lifting weight over 50 pounds may be required, as well as other physical activity, such as bending, climbing, walking, carrying, pushing and pulling materials and other physical exertions associated with building maintenance. Working conditions may include adverse weather. All staff must accept responsibility for using sound judgment about working outside in extreme heat or extreme cold (temps ranging 85+ to 45-).

Compensation: $ 12.00-$14.00 per hour
