WAGES has been Wayne County's Community Action Agency for over 40 years! WAGES is a local non-profit Community Action Agency which plans, develops, and administers human service programs designed to meet the needs of the community.

Small Beginnings — From small beginnings in an old house that served as offices and Head Start classrooms, WAGES has evolved into an agency operating seven Head Start and Early Head Start centers as well as eight other human services programs. Click here for more WAGES history.

The WAGES Mission — WAGES is dedicated to helping people improve their quality of life and health and gain independence. WAGES will: advocate for the disadvantaged; encourage people to raise their self-esteem through education; provide service and opportunities for service; and mobilize community, public, and private resources.
